I have literally been making this jam for years and probably the first one I made to sell.
Its a nice tart jam - not overly sweet. Lots of random plummy chunks and also great with cheeses. So spread it on some toast, put it in a door stop sandwich with some cheddar or put a little dish of it on your next crackers and cheese platter ( a suggestion: seedy crackers, a mild blue cheese, a ripe wedge of camembert, a handful of muscatels and a scattering of roasted almonds )
We use our own plums and we have a couple of different varieties. This particular batch is Omega which are lovely blood plums, and pretty good eating straight from the tree so here are some I saved from the kids and birds.
